OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUR CHURCH TO PARTNER WITH

THE NORTH BATON ROUGE WOMEN’S HELP CENTER

Our ministry at the North Baton Rouge Women’s Help Center (NBRWHC) to our clients is much like the ministry pastors have with their congregations.  What better partnership could there be than for our ministries to join together to help us fulfill our mission of positively impacting the moral and social decline in the North Baton Rouge area as well as assist pastors in more effectively ministering to their congregation.  There are several ways you can partner with us.  Feel free to choose as many options as would like.

v     Having the owner/directors, Charles and Barbara Thomas, attend your church service(s) and do a presentation to your congregation about the services that we provide and how they can partner with us individually.  They may partner individually in the following areas:

Ø      Donating new and used baby/maternity clothes, diapers, formula, car seats, baby furniture, etc. to our Baby Basket Program and My Baby & Me Prenatal Class.

Ø      Volunteering to make receiving blankets for our My Baby & Me Prenatal Class (knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc.).

Ø      RNs, LPNs, RDMSs, Nurse Practitioners, or OB-GYNs may volunteer to do ultrasounds for our clients once a month.  If needed, training can be provided. 

Ø      Volunteering as a Board member for NBRWHC or FVRI.

v     The church, as a whole, or specific groups/ministries within the church can do a Baby Bottle Boomerang fundraiser.  We distribute baby bottles with our information to the congregation or group and they keep the bottles for 2-4 weeks and fill them with donations for the NBRWHC.  They can put a single donation in it, collect loose change, or even go door to door—whatever the individual decides to do.  At the end of the assigned period, the donations will be presented to NBRWHC.

v     The church, as a whole, or specific groups/ministries within the church can collect new and used items, as mentioned above, for our Baby Basket Program and My Baby & Me Prenatal Class.

v     Consider NBRWHC as a local missions outreach and become a Friend of Life Partner by donating a minimum of $25 per month or a yearly donation of $300 to our annual fund.

v     The church may collect a special offering for NBRWHC or our expansion project, Family Values Resource Institute, Inc. or the pastor may decide to give a donation directly from your church account.  

v     The church can contribute to our expansion project by hosting a fund raiser at your church.  The congregation and other potential donors will be invited to partake of refreshments and mingle following the presentation of the vision of the organization.  After which time, the guests will have an opportunity to partner (immediately or pledge) with us through in-kinding services, volunteering, and/or financial support.
